I am a group 7 rider, currently able to competed in the Novice Restricted and Prelim tests... I am thinking of taking one of my horses up to Medium in the next few months, what will this do to my rider group and what would it mean for my other horse???

If I got a point at medium, would that mean I could not longer compete in Prelim with my other horse? Would I have to compete her in the open section even though she only has 24 points?

You can gain 14 points at a higher level before you have to move up a group as far as i can remember.
Once you move up to a level 6 rider you wont be able to ride the other one in prelim qualifiers and you would have to do novice opens.
I think thats right but sure someone on here will confirm it.

From BD website: A "buffer zone" has been introduced so restricted section riders will be able to gain 14 points at the next level up before having to ride in the open section at the level below. This applies to all levels from novice to advanced medium.

If you get more than 14 points @ Elem you become a group 6 rider and not able to do prelim and novice you ride in the open section.

Get 14 points at Medium and you are a group 5.....

Get any points at Medium and i assume this makes you a group 6?

I get so lost with BD it is unreal

If I ride in the training or HC sections, surely I can stay at Prelim and Novice Restricted with Grace??? Until I actually get a point at medium...
