I'm looking for a BE course that would be open for schooling in the Hants/Dorset area, intro/pre novice level but ideally with a few smaller or more inviting fences to warm up over. Any suggestions as it will be our first time over a BE course but I really really want to have a go just for a bit of fun before I go to uni.

Thanks

Tweseldown is good for schooling, it's Hants/Surrey boarder about 10-15 minutes from M3 j5 if thats any good to you?

Thanks guys, that sounds hopeful - what are the fences like there? Is it a full course or an open field for schooling? And what's the water like (I've only made it as far as steps in and out so far so ideally I'm on the hunt for something a bit more exciting...)?

It is set in what looks like an overgrown beach! It is sand everywhere so great going and there are bushes and things all the way through so you can follow it round in a course (Intro,PN,Nov,Int) or just pop each jump and walk in between, it is lovely and has every different type of fence in various different heights!

It is a BE course with fences from Baby to BE advanced. It is over a huge sandyy area with different traks and quite a lot of open pieces.

Probably slightly better described!!

Are all the fences marked up with the levels or is it just a case of see which ones are jumpable and which ones are suicide...?

If they are marked up, could someone please tell me the colours for each of them though so I do have a vaugue idea of what I'm facing please!

I've just looked it up on the map and it's a long way from me

Is there anyhere else that's worth going to? A few people have mentioned Shirley's Farm in the New Forest to me but I'm not sure whether it's any good or even if it is BE...?

Shirley Farm is not a BE course. How about Bovington? They have intro and pre novice. Moreton is closed for schooling at the moment .

They might have some marks on them - If they do Pink is PN, Yellow is Novice, Green is Intermediate and I think Blue is advanced but they prob wouldnt be marked up.

Just make sure you check the jump b4 jumping, some may look small but have a huge drop or something!!

I wouldn't bother with Shirly Farm. How about Hoplands; http://www.hoplandsec.co.uk/ (Training only from Intro to Advanced) or Rockbourne (Course 23 UK Chasers) or Dene Farm (Course 3 UK Chasers) http://www.ukchasers.com/ukchasers/ukccoursedirectory.htm They're all courses we take our eventers around although they're not BE courses, they have Intro - PN - N size fences. Hope that helps.

Also think you have to join UK chasers but it's really cheap.
