BE - height of fences?

can anyone tell me what the approx height for the jumps (both SJ and XC) is for the lowest level (intro?) in british eventing?and what is expected of u in the dressage?or if its easier where i can find out?thanks

You can download all this info in the rule book for free from the BE website. Intro is 90cm XC and I think up to 95cm SJ, but venues vary as to whether they are suitable for first timers or not - for example Broadway is a perfect first time venue, Stockland Lovell is not!

max height for intro is 90cm. Go to www.britisheventing.com, click on BE Informed, go to About BE and the Sport of Eventing, and the click on Structure and scroll down to the bottom. It has all the levels on there for future reference.

There is a pre Intro running at some events now which is even smaller.

Yeah, I agree that some courses are a lot easier intro's than others. I chose my youngsters first intro very carefully!

I did Broadway as my 1st, it's lovely there

The height is generally 90cm, but I'm pretty sure 1 or 2 SJs (square parallels) are allowed to be 95cm..

Xc is 90cm. Sjing is 90cm with one upright and one parallel at 95cm

Intro is 2'11" and PN 3'3"

PN is upto 3'5, and Intro upto 3'1 sjing, but as above XC.

We are having a Pre-Intro class in April, which will be a good starting point for us.

If you are in North Yorkshire I would use Richmond or North Allerton as your first next season
