BE horse grades

I was looking at the conditions for the Intermediate Championship at Gatcombe Festival this year. It says that it is run under Advanced rules for the horses must be grades 2,3 or 4. What does that grading mean and how is it achieved ? Sorry to be thick !

Grade 1 61+ points so a horse in advanced points is not eligible to compete

Grade 4 is no points, grade 3 is 0-21 points, grade 2 is 21-60 points I think and grade 1 is 61 plus. Hope this helps.

Grade 3 20 and under

Grade 2 21- 60 points

Points are awarded in events from novice upwards, depending on placing and also given for DCs

All - many thanks ! Understand now. Slightly worried actually as my boywon his intermediate today (hurrah) first time he has done one, but means he is not far off grade 1 with relatively little experience... Not moaning at all of course ! Really rather chuffed actually !
