Canter across the diagnol, simple change throught trot.

I sa trot for a few strides over X then canter on other rein. (as it says through trot)

Daughter says simple change always through walk so you should canter, trot, walk, trot canter.

Who is right?

a change through trot means you should canter then show a few strides of balanced trot strides then canter then a simple chnage is canter walk then canter i think. there was a post earlier on about this in CR called elementary 44

At Novice level you won't be asked to do a simple change through walk. I have done that test a fair few times ad it is simply a case of changing legs staying as straight as possible showing 2 or 3 strides of trot.
