Just window shopping...came across this ad:

16hh stunning 11 year old TB chestnut gelding ridden by teenage girl

Red has a temperament rarely found: he is a total gentleman, very affectionate, fantastic at competitions, never naps, bucks or rears, 100% all ways – he is a family friend in the body of a super and stylish competition horse

7 BE points at intro and pre-novice level

BE record under name "Chelford Toy Boy"

He is really experienced in all 3 disciplines and totally trustworthy. He is working at Novice level in dressage with scope to go further

He has super, well established flat work, lovely paces and is always obedient and forward going and always placed

He loves cross country – will jump anything, water, ditches etc, and just takes his rider round

£7k

Great to put his BE name so we can have a look at his BE points.... ?? but according to BDWP he's only done 3 PN's and had a stop in the XC at 2 of them. How can he have points? He super dressage?? I was expecting scores in the 20's..

I have no idea what they are talking about either, points at BE can only be won at Novice level and above if you are in the top 6 or ride a double clear.

I think some people become disillusioned when they sell their horse thinking it is much better than it is or thinking people won't check the horses record!

I just looked at his record on BE website and shows 5 OPN's so not sure where the record with his points is, but odd for him to be doing all OPN's if he hasn't go any points?!

How strange!

well that name of hose has run in 5 events total. 3 in 2005 and 2 last year with the last of those being in June.

All those runs have been in Open PNs. He has only ever had one rider who has competed at Intro up to Novice (with no points on record which goes back to 2003)

Would like to know why only run in OPNs rather than PNs or even a intro although that may just be done to venue and time of entry. Also what has it done since June last year.

Interesting though but yep no points on record!!

Maybe he's just been imported. I thought you have to prove the horse hasn't competed abroad or else you automatically get a certain number of points depending on its age (you do at BSJA anyway, unless you prove otherwise).

I wouldnt touch this horse with a bargepole - sounds dodgy!

I was thinking it was a touch of exaggeration too.

People not realising that you can check these things out nowadays, though why advertise his registered name??

Could it just be a name change. I was looking at a horse the other day and found a "missing year" with no comps. Found that he was registered for that year with a II after his name - effectively showing a decent record for that year and masking his other three poor years! (Suspect he had a better rider on that year!)

Personally I think the horse has had its name changed.
There was a horse who had the same name as my horse only a space divided the difference.
My horse was at Intro/PN standard the other was Novice going intermediate. The other horse has now changed its name. However, the first part of its eventing career isnt credited unless you click on the old name. (does that make sense)?
