What is Longleat like?

I'm planning ahead, and it's either West Wilts or Longleat in June, but i've never been to longleat...

Longleat is a proper event in beautiful surroundings with trandstands etc. The XC is quite hilly, the SJ is in the midldle of the tradestands and the dressage is next to the sea lion lake, and they do bark at lot

West Wilts is very flat, the SJ is on a very slight slope, The XC is relatively straight forward although they do have a lot of combinations.

There is some videos of Longleat and West Wilts in the link in my sig.

Longleat is a much nicer event fgor its atmosphere and sense of occaision. I hate the ground at both those venues tbh and if we have a long dry spell I wouldnt run at either

longleat is fab! great venue with the big estate and house. such a nice event, has always been quite a jumping test. great for a strong showjumper and a fit XC horse. however the dressage arenas r near the sealions and they make a bit of a noise sometimes and sometimes the smell of the lions can also get to some horses, but great event and even better if your horse is laid back for dressage and wont mind the other animals! and if its a good jumper it will make it up for a fiesty test on the tough tracks anyway!

I did Longleat Novice and it was a big beefy course, one that you would do if you were thinking of upgrading to Intermediate. It is also fantastic to do the dressage in front of the house, that was one of my aims and I've achieved that, need to give myself a new aim now and the showjumping is set in the middle of the tradestands. I give it a 10/10 rating
