Hello, I'm doing an (unaffiliated) event this weekend and have been happily learning the BE 102 (2010) dressage test, however it transpires that the actual version I am supposed to have learnt is from 2009. Unfortunately cannot find this on BE website or Dressage Diagrams so was wondering, what amendments were made between '09 & '10 that I should know about? Thanks in advance for any help from those more knowledgeable and professional than me!

Is this the Pre-Novice test with the 10m loops?

If so, yes they are slightly different - the 2010 test made it a bit more simple.

For the 2009 test it's down the centre line, track right and ride your 10m loop the same. Then change the rein K-B with a walk transition (3-5 steps over the centre line. The it's the same (canter between M&C, 20m circle at C, give & retake inside rein, CHEK working canter, trot at K, walk AF) then it's free walk at F, B half circle 20m to E, E med walk, EKA med walk, A trot. Then it's the same again (10m loop), MCH working trot, then it's change the rein HB with your walk transition over centre line, then it's all the same from there.

So to summarise ;) it's just your changes of rein in trot that go across the short diagonal rather than the long, and your free walk goes FBE, rather than FK.

Does that make sense?

That is fantastic, thanks so much! Will practise it this afternoon, a lot more technical than the PC/ RC tests I usually have to do; still haven't got the hang of those pesky 10m loops.

Anyway, I'm very grateful that you've clarified it for me, makes total sense now I have scrawled annotations all over my copy of the 2010 test. :D
