Well, we have nothing to do tomorrow so we thought we might take the nags to the beach....as it is the time of year you can go.

Can anyone recommend a good beach for riding and if you can actually ride this time of year there?

We are in central devon, so anywhere in devon and north cornwall is good.

The only beach I have ridden on is Mothercombe but that was when I went on the Dartmoor Hunt pleasure ride over the flete estate - not sure if you are allowed on it at any time.

you can ride on Westward ho which is a huge beach and easy parking - you need to go to the furthest car park and then you can ride out directly on to the beach. You can also rid on Saunton sands - and that goes on for miles.

Saunton Sands. You can park in the car park and then straight on the beach for miles of galloping?Local race horse trainers have been known to use it so I presume its ok. My friend takes her TB down most weeks. I am not brave enough yet????
