Beach riding along Brean Beach

Taking the horses to the brean beach and wanted some tips and tricks. It’s about 3 hours either way for us so a long day out so want to make sure to make the most of it.
is there any sinking sand? Rocks? Shall we go on high tide or low?
any thing we need to know before we go? We’ve never taking our own before?
what shall we pack in the lorry? It’s my first drive down the motorway and just want to make it as stress free as possible
 
Yes there is sinking sand mud,
no rocks
low tide so there is 1) parking, 2) you can see the footing underneath you. - It is only suitable to go in the sea if it is a high spring tide and you know it well enough to know which bits to avoid.

Am not sure what the current situ is with parking as there was an issue that the sand had got washed away from the concrete ramps onto both brean and berrow parking but I think they have sorted that now.
My preference is to park at berrow (as it avoids the mini roundabouts/narrow roads to get to brean) ride in one direction, then come back past the lorries to go the other way.
You are only allowed up as far as the sea wall starts in burnham (near the on-beach lighthouse), and the area close to brean down at the other end should be avoided as it gets particularly silty - but you have a few miles in between.

For safety it is advisable to go with someone else and for you both to keep an eye on hoof print depth, and if in doubt move towards the dunes/stay near the dunes.
There are sand 'spits' that you will go along and then realise that you are surrounded by silty bits, it is better to turn around and go back the way you came then move up towards the dunes if you need to.
