.

I live near Reading, can anyone suggest the nearest Beach I can go to????

Also how do I find out when your allowed to ride on them and tide times etc.

Ive got friends who go to Hayling Island from Basingstoke! I think this is the nearest to Reading but not sure where they go once at HI. Think also they only go in the winter! Another friend goes to Studland Bay, Poole. This is a lot further.

I must admit it does sound pretty good fun doesnt it?

Depends how far you want to travel. I recon it'll probably take you 3ish hours to get to Eastbourne where you can ride at Pevensey or Cooden which is fab. Parking is pretty good and when the tides out you can ride for miles. Let me know if you come this way and we'll meet up with you and show you the way. Where we park is right on the beach off a little country lane so not all that easy to find.

Hayling beach is probably closest.

You can ride on the beach any time during OCT-MAR. From APR - SEPT it is restricted to before 10am and after 7pm.

The best times to ride is when the tide is out. You can look up tides on the internet.

Go to the West end of Hayling near the Ferry boat pub. There is a huge car park and lorries access is good. That is the dune end and you can ride right down to the East end, about 6 miles!
