This cross came up on my fb, 13 wk old boy don't have the time he deserves.....some people just need a good slap.

And why the hell cross a beagle with a ckc? That I don't understand.

Anyway will step off my soap box :D

How about this? Border collie x bulldog!!

I rehomed an in-pup bitch last year and was told the possible fathers were either another collie or a bulldog. I've heard 40% bulldogs are infertile and just my luck this one wasn't! I managed to home them all with family and friends bar one, which I was really worried about as soon as I posted the ad but he is in a fab home and doing well in puppy training classes :)

With breeds like cavilers, outcrossing can only benefit them. They have horrible faces which cause so much bother to them. Do i agree with designer crosses? No. But I don't agree with many pure breeds either.

I've known more bug eyed, squashed faced ones than well formed, pretty ones to be honest. Which is a shame, because a nice cavalier face really is nice!

Same here though I haven't brought a pup for about 15 yrs.

Maybe to lessen the degree of the Brachycephalic (flat faced/round headed/bulbous eyed) Cavalier, with a dog that can actually 'speak' to you!!:D

My cavis always were normal faced. But I always went to a breeder who was registered and had the breeds best interests at heart. I think migjt struggle to find some now though

Yes this exactly. I've had to put eye drops in many a boarders eyes cause they are so bug eyed they can't blink. Then there was the ones who could not eat properly or breathe or clean themselves.

Staffies can tend to have short faces but I went out of my way to find a long nosed one thankfully I've never had any issues in her 12 years related to noses/eyes.

I think (not sure) that some posters may be confusing cavaliers with King Charles Spaniels - former have perfectly normal faces, King Charles spaniels have more domed skulls and much shorter noses, totally different breed! Safe to say I have known many hundreds of cavaliers over the year and have never seen a "bug eyed squashed face" one....makes me wonder what on earth puppy farmers are thinking of ;)

It's possible, Lévrier but the first set ( twenty odd years ago) were introduced to me as cavaliers and every set after, so their owners and breeders were also misinformed, if so. Unlikely but anything's possible

... Why do cavaliers always come in sets? I don't think I've known anyone with just one

Now that is true. My sister has two (beautiful) ones. They must be a little bit addictive.

We have had both breeds in the past.

One is bigger than the other smaller.

All of ours lived to their teens bar one who was pts the day before his 10th birthday. He had a tumour behind his sinus. All the others were normal old age. The one we have just lost was 14 with out a trace of a heart murmur which the vets had never had one that age like it before.

My mum is one of the leading breeders of cavaliers - mind you she breeds good ones so perhaps that's why I've never seen any squashed faced ones :D

Simple - they are so easy to have around and so little bother that people always want more than one! I grew up in a house which had anything between 8 - 15 of them :)

I guess that is why I am still always surprised when people say that my 4 greyhounds are a lot :D

Ahhh THAT advert!

That pup is the same age as my girl, I barely know her! I've had her 5 weeks today, that is no time to get to know a pup and get used to the routine. Obviously they wanted it because it was cute, not because they actually wanted a dog! I have been desperate for nearly 2 years, since my beloved dog of a life-time passed away.
Tamriel can be annoying, she's hard work! But, when she sat on command for the first time, I could barely contain my excitement!! I'm glad I read several puppy books before I got her though, she is my first pup and although I'm actually better with dogs than horses, it is a massive learning curve!

Looked like a child holding the pup in the picture too, I wonder what they thought! Probably heart broken.

Gorgeous! I can see why they are addictive. Every one I've met has been very sweet natured.

:D After growing up beside hunt kennels, I think my perception of 'a lot of dogs' is skewed!
