Beagles - any views welcome!

Beagle pack is gong to be kennelled (hopefully!) in our village soon, and I'm hoping to go out with them occasionally.

I'd be interested as to anyones experiences of beagling, as it's all new to me!

Well, as it's on foot you need to be quite fit and wear suitable clothing. I only went once when we lived in Cheshire but it was fun.

Slightly off the topic but can you take pet Beagles beagling? I have a Beagle and I think he would absolutely love to go out with a pack. Does anyone do it? Is it a good idea or not? And what exactly is beagling? Is it just taking the pack out without horses? sorry guys I have never been hunting or beagling so all new to me!

Went to a party on Saturday and discovered the Beagles have already arrived in the village, there are over 50 of them, am looking forward to going out with them!

Hounds are refered to as couples ie 50 would be 25 couple. Don't know about beagles.

I look forward to seeing you out with us - contrary to popular belief, you don't need to be fit, although if you do get the bug that tends to happen without your seeming to put too much effort in! All you need are warm clothes, stout shoes and either lucozade or a hip flask depending on energy levels.....

We're out on Tuesday. Should be a cracking meet.
