When I first got hens and had them free range in the garden I was worried about what my spaniel would do! But actually he spends hours just staring at them - daft dog

Ravenwood, Bear's very 1st encounter with a chicken (it had escaped from the house next door to the yard) was for want of a better phrase.......stripped butt nekkid!

The Bear grabbed the poor thing and got it down to its birthday suit in a couple of nano seconds!
He has now been taught chicken etiquette, courtesy of Hale and Pace, the two rather large cockrels!

So cute!!

Unfortunately Otto would have snaffled them right up

I'm not sure what it is about chickens, but he is obsessed with them, he doesn't give a stuff about the ducks and the geese scare him, but he would sit outside the chicken shed all the time if you left him.
When the chickens are loose Otto has to be watched like a hawk.

Awwww! I aaahhh'ed so loudly then that Leah came running, obviously assuming that she is the only thing I am ever allowed to find adorable.

I would love it if we could have the dogs and hens loose at the same time, but a selectively-deaf JRT with a penchant for killing birds probably isn't going to be quite so gentle.
