Just a reminder to anyone thinking of a big purchase in the New Year - remember the VAT goes up so it might save you money if you can make your purchase before the years end. A friend has just had some new stables priced up and when she was told what the VAT would come to in 2011, she's hastily arranged for the stables to be done this year, thus saving herself hundreds of pounds. Another friend has given a deposit to a stud for next years covering, so that she can get it at this years price and again, save the VAT difference.
Remember if you get bulk bedding (shavings etc) in - the price will increase with that, as of course will delivery charges (VAT on petrol/diesel for delivering said goods).
As for vets bills - just pray you don't get a big bill next year.
