Following on from my thread a few weeks ago about Beau getting really worked up when we went to the beach, I'm pleased to report that he was foot perfect when we went back today with dad's horse acting as a nanny. He was so good - he kept a nice steady canter the whole time and never once tried to speed up without being asked even though he could easily have said 'sod it, I'm off' and tried to catch up with Timberland, who was out in front. :D

Bit of a pointless post but I'm proud of my mini elephant. :o

Great news!

It's definitely all the in the preparation and the organisation. I always say, 'make it easy for the horse to do the right thing'. The nanny sounds like a very good idea.

The big thing for me is learning that I can trust him not to take off if I pick up the pace a little bit - he's a big powerful boy and is really forwards so that can be a bit intimidating. thankfully he's a sweetheart - he could teach my other horses a thing or two about behaving themselves in public ;)
