He sauntered off the lorry (which I drooled over) like a pro and promptly attacked his feed bucket before throwing it away in disgust when it was empty.

He's in isolation for two weeks so I'm limited to hacking alone as he's not allowed anywhere near the yard. fair enough, but the field is so far away from the yard and I'm lazy :D
I've never hacked him so my dad is going to come along on foot tomorrow (and bring an emergency leadrope). :o

The saddler came today and he said my oldie's saddle will be a good fit so I'm to take it with me when we go to his next week, solving the issue of not being allowed to ride in the arenas. :)

His breeding is pretty good - there's Clover Hill in there. Daddy is Beach Ball, an ID grand prix showjumper so I have high hopes for him.

so, some pictures from last night.

and because he's a handsome boy

I'm very excited. Has it been two weeks yet? :D

ETA: does he look ok condition-wise? He's lacking muscle but I think he could do with a teeny bit more over his ribcage?

beautiful horse! Hope the 2 weeks passes by very quickly for you. It's hard to tell from those pics what his condition is as in the top pic he looks ok, just lacking muscle but in the bottom pic he does look as though he may benefit from a little more weight especially as horses often drop a bit after a move to a new home.

I'll try to get some better pics of him tomorrow. Need to get some of my oldie to condition score him. :)

Handsome! Anything with Cloverhill bloodlines makes me gurgle like a baby with excitment.. I have a soft spot for his bloodlines - possibly because the best mare I ever had had him as her grand sire. She sadly had to be PTS :( But still some her lives on in your boy so happy times!! :)

Good luck with him!

Wow he is very like his sire! His sire is by OBOS Quality 004 who jumped nations cups for Ireland. I used to groom him and he was a darling....my mare is currently at stud to be covered by him. His dam is Echo Beach who jumped internationally with Cian O'Connor....numerous wins, nations cups etc so all in all the grand parents on the sire's side of your fella are excellent!

So excited for you, he looks a sweetie. Looks in pretty good shape to me condition wise but I am on a mission to get my boy slimmer so am paranoid at the moment (and am on a diet myself hehe).
