Becoming a Riding instructor

I'm 15 and ride once a week but have been riding for almost 7 years. I want to become a riding instructor but everyone says the pay is really bad for the working hours and the courses are really expensive.
Should I give it a try?

Well you need to find out what routes are available, what qualifications, if you want a job in a riding school then you may have different aspirations than if you want to compete.
You are still quite young to decide what you want to do long term, but maybe you should try to get a weekend and summer job, you would need a lot of practical experience, and this will give you an idea if you like the daily routine jobs.

The Association of British Riding Schools has riding instructor qualifications as does the British Horse Society. Then there are National Vocational Qualifications where you can specialise in teaching at some point and British Equestrian Tourism qualifications not teaching exactly more focussed on trekking centres. To make a good living you would need to be self employed otherwise it will probably be minimum wage.
