Right here is the thing.

I am moving to a new yard at the end of march. (excited!!) BUT there is a problem. I currently use paper bedding at £5 a bag and use 2/3 a week but they do not allow paper bedding at the new yard.
Changed to paper because he is quite messy and box walks in the stable (something i am hoping to remedy in the new yard) and i found that the paper sort of clumps together when wet meaning he cant spread the wet round his stable and turn it all into a brown gooey mess like with shavings.

Ive never really had any contact with other bedding apart from straw and shavings so can you lovely lot help me out and recommend something for me :)

Then will have to see if new yard allows it.

Thanks in advance

aquamax or any of the other wood pellet type bedding products:)

A friend of mine told me not to use wood pellets for my messy pony so I've never tried them - am I missing a trick here?

I've found shavings are useless because they just get kicked around but have now discovered Eco Comfybed which is brilliant. It forms a nice firm, dry bed. I do use roughly the same amount of bales as I did shavings as he is just too messy to deep litter so I go right through the bed every day but it takes me about half the time and as they're nearly £1 a bale cheaper than the cheapest shavings I can find that's fine.

We use flax for our guys and am loving it. It's super absorbant so have gone from 3-4 bales of shavings a week to 1 bales a week of flax. My mare, although wet, is pretty neat and clean but my sister's tb is a box walker and makes a mess and even he still only goes through one bale a week. It's expensive per bale (we pay £8.35 a bale for a full pallett delivered) but because you use a lot less of it it works out cheaper

as above, I also use the comfybed and get on really well with it....plus I have just found out they are doing five bales for the price of 4 for the whole of March......5 bales for about £25...yes please!!
