Used to use Easibed which I liked for it's non movement & absorbancy but was quite a thin flat bed and to have a deep bed used a lot of bales. Have been using Snowflakes for the last couple of years now which I like for it's thickness/fluffiness but moves about a lot & not as absorbant. Can anyone recommend a bedding based on those 2 likes/dislikes.

Oh, have rubber matting as well. I know I probably make life harder by having a deep bed but I just don't like a scattering of bedding, horses are in a fair amount of time during the winter so prefer a deep bed.

Have been looking at Ecobed cardboard which I've never used before, can this be done with a thick/deep bed?

Any help/advice would be great, thanks.

Not much help but - I've never personnaly used cardboard but when one of my horses went to the vets they did and the beds very really nice a deep - although they not use paper so not sure if this says something!

I use Allspan shavings which are Dutch and make a really nice fluffy deep bed.

have pm'd you, but yes, it can be done with a deep bed, i've done this a few times (for foaling, and for a laminitic) and it makes a lovely deep warm bed. it can be a bit hard to find the bits of poo if a horse is a box-walker, but otherwise it's great.
