I used to always use shavings till the price went sky high and have tried other things. I have had to put my mare on paper for foaling and have to say I love it. No smell, Very absorbant, dust free. The only thing I hate about it is it blows around so easily which is of concern to me as my stables are adjacent to my back garden.
