Has anyone got a Bedlington Terrier. I have just recently got a liver dog. He is the first Bedlington I have owned. He is just for a pet and not working. What a fab pup he is. He is great around the horses & kids etc and very sweet. Although at the moment he thinks every 1 wants to play and that everything is to play with and bite lol, i know i have made a good choice. He travels really well, even to the horse shows, just like he has done it a thousand times before. We are going to have such fun with him bless. Any 1 else got one and how do you find them.

hi Kayfm, have a look at my other post introducing Flodden - my bedlington terrier pup :) I have had bedlington lurchers for years, but when my old boy died i bought Flodden a purebred bedlington. Flodden is a blue, so will grey out in time. he is incredible, a really confident pup, house trained at 8 weeks when we got him travels in the horse lorry, cars, in fact does anything we want to do, and is the best dog to snooze on the sofa with. You need to put up pictures of yours :)

Hos Bosworth, thanks for your reply. Yes they are great dogs arent they. Ive know Ive made the right choice like you. I will take some photos and post them. Just about to read your previous Flodden posts x

I've got 2 beddy crosses!! Sidney is a beddy cross standard Poodle (rescue..dumped by breeder before they knew to jump on the 'doodle' bandwagon!!!) and Norris who is a Lurcher with beddy in him. While both are extreamly different to look at they have in common the HUGE HUGE HUGE energy levels, a love of play, a love of people, a love of life and in general just absolutely amazingly fabulous sweet dogs!!! I'm lucky to be a outdoor type person so their energy requirements are met..and they do love to sleep once worn out so they are perfect house guests!!! I'd absolutely love a full beddy one day, and I do keep my eye out for them in rescue..one day the right boy will turn up at the right time and I'll be able to enjoy the experience of a full beddy.

I think the one word for a beddy is fun. I'm completely smitten by them.

Hi, another person with beddy crosses. I've got two, one five year old beddy/whippet and now have a ten week old beddy/greyhound pup. If the new pup turns out like the five year old I'll be pleased as punch. He's a lovely dog, loads of energy (but not daft with it), loves long runs/walks but equally is more than comfortable crashed out on the sofa cuddling with us. After having labradors for years it's so nice to have dogs that don't moult all year round LOL!

Wishing you all the best with your new addition, you couldn't have picked a nicer type of dog. I'm definitely a convert to the breed and wouldn't have any other in the future.

We had a bedlington terrier as our first dog. She was a great family dog - super with children, great cuddly dog in the evenings and generally a lovely character. She was also the best actor around. Every christmas she would steal something - smoked salmon (parents couldn't work out why us kids had suddenly developed a liking for soked salmon until Bonnie started emptying the water bill!), maltesers, whisky and even the christmas cake. About 6 months died (when she was 15) my cousin came to the house before we set off to the National Dressage Champs. I ran upstairs to get changed and Keeley put her lunch in the porch and made her way to the sitting room. Little old Bonnie crept stiffly up to Keeley and had a fuss made of her before wandering off. Keeley felt very sorry for our old, stiff dog! Five mins later I walk down the stairs to see Keeley shouting at Bonnie to come back and to see my stiff old Bedlington have a new lease of life and sprint away with Keeley's sandwiches. Bonnie, bless her, could put on the best old person act I have ever seen! She was a great family dog, who left us with loads of hilarious memories!
