I have just bought one of these bits for no other reason than I haven't seen one like this before. It will probably never get used but I'd never seen one and thought it might be interesting. It will go on its' nail and hang beside a load of others that haven't been needed for years.

Has anyone ever seen one of these before?

It looks to me like a mish mash of a wilson, an over check, a wilkie and one of those cartwheel jobbies.

Found this beastie on Ebay of course! Search for Beery bit I think it was from the US.

I spend ages just looking at the American bits, twisted and wire mouthpieces are very much par for the course, always remembering that horses are ridden very differently here. My local tack store has a huge section of "shinies" I spend ages just looking at them, they think I'm bonkers but then say "Oh, she's English" as if that makes having a bit fetish OK.
