My luck is not up at the moment and seems to be going from bad to worse. Due to many problems over the past 18 months, Ralph has been in and out of work. I was recently involved in an RTA so I'm unable to get to the yard and have relied on my young cousin and friends.

Ralphs behaviour in the past 4 weeks has changed, he is fine with humans but has started to attack other horses, some of which he is usually really pally with ie grooming each other. He has become so bad that he's now being kept in and turned out into a jumping paddock for a few hours on his own. This has today resulted in him coming in lame, I assume due to the fact that he has gone mad and twisted something.

I am so worried as I am unable to get to see him regularly or have him exercised as due to a break in I cannot leave my tack at the yard.

Any suggestions would be greatly received.

Is there anyone wo could ride him for you? It might be worth having the vet check him over if you haven't already, as there may be something wrong, which in turn is making him irriatable.

If the vet can't find anything I'd maybe try an Equine Sports Massage or Bowen, then a supplement. Does he get any hard feed? If he does and he is not ridden much it might be worth cutting this out as well.

It sound like he might be a bit stressed?
When he's turned out with the others is there enough food i.e. grass to go round and keep them occupied?
Have there been some new horses at the yard which might have upset the hierachy and made him try to re establish his position?
How old is he?
Prehaps you could try a calmer to take the edge off him?
I don't know if any of that helps at all
