She's very pretty

i'm no good at confo tho - i'd say u could have done with front and back and other side shots to let the pro's judge properly.
I love her though, she looks like fun!! She'll lose more weight as u ride her more, i didn't think omg completely overweight pony when i looked at the pics xxx

Nice looking pony

Being critical, she is long in the back, she looks to be built a bit downhill (eg withers look lower than 1/4s) but that could be as she's stood on a slope?
She looks a bit back at the knee and stands over herself a little.
She has a lovely bottom and a nicely set on neck. Her breeding means her neck is quite substantial and she's a bit upright through the pasterns but they are nice and short, as are her cannons.

She looks quite downhill (As mentioned, may be the picture angles) as well as back at the knee. Her downhill-ness is something that I have noticed in native types before, and I would say that the degree it is at won't bother you/her, though it could make saddle fitting difficult, and I would be careful getting rugs that fit her withers, but don't rub her neck.

Again, maybe the angle of the picture, but her feet don't look too good; short toes on the front, and toe-ing out slightly.

As Bossanova said, she is also quite long backed, which could lead to problems jumping, and also give an uncomfortable stride.

The placement of her neck is good, as is the conformation of her bum, however, IMO (And I don't know much about highlands) her tail is set a little bit low, but that is just a cosmetic thing.

I have to disagree that long back may cause probs jumping- my mare has a stupidly long back and she's a machine over a fence

That may be so for you, and I am still learning, but some long backed horses I've seen have difficulty with creating a decent shape over a fence, without forgetting their back end. (making any sense? I'm tired and my brain isn't working)

Back at the knee and a little tied in (i think that is the right term?) otherwise - absolutely lovely! Lovely short compact pasterns which I love to see xx

The highland was the original 'cob' type, used for driving, pack ponies and riding. They are meant to stand up and forward of themselves (find a pic of a good welsh cob stood up and you'll see what i mean)
She is that kind of shape, good deep chest (I assume she's wide between he front legs too) which gives loads of room for heart and lungs.
Her legs are all in proportion to her body. Her canons and pasterns are short, and whilst her pasterns are upright they are in the same angle as her shoulder. this should give her a good jump, but you need to make sure her pasterns and feet are the same angle to avoid concussion injuries and arthritis. I don't think she is back at the knee or tied in at the knee, I think its just the angle of the pics.
She has a good neck, set on nicely, maybe a bit cresty, but as she's a little on the round side that should change. PRetty, kind face.
She's maybe fractionally long in the back, but not unreasonably so for a mare, she's supposed to have room for a foal in there! It certainly shouldn't cause any problems jumping or with her stride. In fact, all the long horses I know have brilliant jumps, and lovely smooth paces. She might be slightly downhill, but not so much as it would cause a problem.
Like someone else said, her tail is set on a bit low, but it's only cosmetic - tho old fashioned horsemen would tell you that a low tail, especially with a bump above it, means a horse has a good jump in it!

She makes a good picture overall, a nice sort.

yes shes wide between the front legs bang on the money there

her neck is huge all the time when she's fully fit or looking chubby.

he feet look crappy the now cause she was ill last year and had abcesses in both her front feet which burst out at her coronary band, when they grew out the broke off the front of her feet so she just has little stumps just now
smile.gif
and i have always found her to be a very comfortable pony to ride very smooth in trot and canter she has like no withers never has done so takes a Xwide saddle but we've never had any problems in gettin one to fit

its very interesting to hear what people think of her
