2 Saturdays ago Torin and I got ourselves scrubbed up and headed along to the F21 show at Howe for the coloured classes. Early start and torin was bundled into friends trailer along with her daughters 11hh show pony, who he is convinced will eat him, and set off.
Ridden class was first and having the whole main arena for just the 4 of us meant torin was so incredibly excited to have room to show off. Just managed to keep a lid on it for the go round, including a gallop that had me applying the brakes very quickly so as not to squash the poor pony in front of us when we all pulled up afterwards. Individual show could have been better, I let him poke his nose a bit but he was responsive enough and extended well to be pulled in second meaning we went forward to section championship where he did the most beautiful gallop, really lowered and stretched, and just missed out on placing! Winner was a lovely little horse who I'm told has competed at hoys!
Inhand class, we were 3rd out of all 3 of us....he was just a bit tired and narky but went well none the less, my little legs just cant keep up with his lanky ones so he cant really trot out enough.
We have the caledonian championships next weekend which we qualified for so super excited and lots of prep and hard work has been had, mostly me going out running so I can try and trot him out a bit better!

Courtesy pic of the ginger one who is doing fab and quite happily trotting under saddle now and almost ready to do a simple dressage test:

Well done he is really lovely and beautifully turned out. Good luck at the Caledonia championships, I know what you mean about trying to run well enough to show them off inhand. I have the same problem with my mare who has a massive trot, she tripped me up at the last show, it was so embarrassing falling over in the ring! Make sure it doesn't happen to you LOL.
