Well, as everyone knows I am a big kid so this was just my cup of tea. For the second time in a week he was being clipped (finish off from last attempt) when I arrived. Getting dark by the time, so warmed up judged it about right for a change, so off we go. No. 1 a full sized oxer off a turn, number 2 an upright across the long diagonal- darkest part so neither I or MG saw a stride, got underneath it and had it down, right turn then back across diagonal for 3 and 4 on a flowing 3 strides, turn left again across the diagonal for 5A&B on 2 strides, then around the outside of the track for the last 4.
Now big improvement, normally he is goggling at the gaping horse eating door to the indoor XC he has the last and then we grind to a halt and hesitantly walk through.

Today though, he took the last nicely, then cantered through the doors without losing rhythm. Had to get to bottom of arena then turn back down the centre line to get to No1, no 2 slight dog leg, turn in the air then round to the right to get to No 3&4, a pair of roll tops, then track left to 5&6, a double of angled road closed planks (good practice for JAS) on 1 stride, then 4 strides to a skinny open fence . Back round to a gattling gun with 3 strides to a pallisade, turn right to a skinny wide brush, 11 upright with water tray, 12 corner turning right to no 13, an arrow head and out. 79 seconds which was about 6th fastest. We finished 5th (would have been 3rd if not had the pole) to win a £10 voucher.
Sadly the number bib conceals my new livery!

I'm jealous - would have loved to have gone but it's so icey round here that getting there would have been a bit too interesting!
He looks like he's jumping really well

Thanks guys he is really going well at present and his flat work is getting really exciting. Had back to back dressage lessons last week with Ian Woodhead, and even Ian was impressed. Would have posted but people would have thought I was on the turn!!!!
