Ben Hobday Badders Saddle

I thought it was hideous - worse than Mary King's dreadful green one.

so far as I know, it also contravenes BE rules
The rule book says " Saddles must be worn and be of English orContinental style and must be predominantly brown, black, grey or navy"

That's not navy!

I am guessing possibly the OP is a mere mortal though and more likely to be constrained by the pesky BE rules?

OP lives in Western Australia if her location thingy is correct - no idea if they use BE/FEI/some other rule book out there. I guess the onus is on the purchaser to make sure what they're buying is legal for competition?

Edit: I've just checked and the Australian National Eventing rules are identical to the FEI ones.

I'm intrigued about the idea of a navy saddle as mention by BE, I assume they were popular at one point to have been included in the rule?

We use EA, and from what I gather, our rule book is a bit more lenient than BE.... The browbands and bling we get away with here would make a magpie jealous. We can also go xc with peaked helmets.
I am gonna check the rule books, but I was also not the only one in love with that saddle, a few friends who ride at 2* and 3* level are interested in them too :)
Thank you all for your help.
