Ben Maher and Triple X

Because its part ownership with Ben, I don't even think its an equal share so Ben still calls the shots.

Plus if they are wanting to sell the horse you want it out and winning to get the best price.

In the HH piece, it said that they bought a part share for £250k (or the sale of another horse) its part of the lawsuit as well.

Real shame that its happened, however He does have a rather wealthy owner from the states so not sure if she would buy the share? Although bit eggs in one basket!

I have nothing but disdain for Ben Maher and hope he gets what's coming to him. Yes he is a talented rider, doesn't mean he has to be such a vile human being. Yes I do know him personally.

Well I don't see any reason why he should be hated. My question is... Was the agreements if he got the sale price he kept the above? And has this turned sour and not the agreements been changed.

I just think their are always two sides and I refuse to believe he's a bad egg just because of a forum. I wish him all success for the future and hope the rumours are nothing more then vicious hear say turned bad.

I scoffed at a guy in the warm up area when I went to a local place with some friends for some show jumping ... couldn't believe how many gadgets one horse could have on it and if anyone needed that many gadgets they shouldn't be riding .... a friend then pointed out who it was, lol Whoops :p

^ haha! Digging a hole there.

I'm intrigued too, I always thought he seemed quite nice on screen but it sounds like he's been involved in quite a few controversial things so makes you question that a bit.

I've heard some awful things about him but despite that hugely admire the way he rides - he is just sublime,

Funny how you put everything down to vicious rumors.

This. Having recently heard some pretty diabolical accounts of his attitude from people who know his former owners (yes, I'll admit that there's the possibility of these opinions being a tad biased), I've gone right off him. However, he's still wonderful to watch ride.

I will put another face on this!! We had the pleasure of meeting him in the champions bar at HOYS a few years ago, he spent over 30 minutes talking to my teenager son, asking about his horses and his riding, he was so charming and he did not have to sit there with us chatting, am sure he had other things to do, but I respected the way he talked to,my son, it made my sons day, he is his hero.. Ok some may have issues with him, but I found him polite and charming, and also tim stockdale, who also chatted to us for half hour or so... There are always two sides to a story .

That still wouldn't make it acceptable to me though, I was watching the jumping yesterday and couldn't believe the amount of metal and gadgets some horses were wearing, saw several getting their tongue over the bit. Seems to me SJ has become more expensive horses and stay on, rather than improving your riding and giving a beautiful display. In dressage the aim is to keep on getting better, why not SJ?

I don't know him, never have known him...don't really know anything about him but have never really liked him, at all. I guess some things just ooze from a person, even through the telly.

I know nothing about him but have seen on facebook this morning he's shared the poster of missing tic toc to his 50,000 likers which I thought was a nice gesture.

Not going to comment, don't know him. Will say everyone is allowed to be a non-perfect human being even if they are in the spotlight.

On gadgets, I loved watching the puissance. What a lovely guy that winning rider was, so generous to his mare, no force, no gadgets (not even a martingale) & a d-ring snaffle. He didn't fiddle or dictate to her, just showed her what he wanted to jump & left it up to her without interference. May not be as pretty as others, but I'd love to be able to send a horse to him, he was a horseman rather than a rider.

And he gave her a treat before and after, I loved him for that. In an interview after Luca said he asked her if she wanted to jump as he wanted to pull her out of the last round. He said she told me of course I want to jump! So they did .. wonderful attitude.

Just read that the winning rider in the puissance, Luca Moneta (?) also keeps his horses barefoot and trains them using NH methods. Nice to see it working at the top :)
