Ben Maher second in GCT Cannes Grand Prix

Watched it live on Eurosport. What a cracking round Bostie and Ideal de la Loge put in - a very deserved win. But what an incompetent fool that Richard Vaughan is - he should have kept his mouth shut on more than a couple of occasions. I had to laugh when he passed a remark about Albert Zoer's sun glasses. If he knew anything about Zoer, then he would have known how often he wears them outdoors. The sun glasses are almost as familiar a sight as his forward sitting position. I do wish they'd get rid of Vaughan! Anyway, three great performances by Bost, Maher, Deusser, and their horses.

and i hope you saw me waving and it was a great competition. I am gald you enjoyed it and I will pass on your comment re Richard Vaughan if you like. Have you watched the live internet stream ever? Wgat do you think of the commentator on thar?
 
What I would like to know is....are the UK commentators actually there at the event, OR are they viewing at the same time as we are, and not at the event?
Anyway, huge well done to Ben, surely Robin Hood was the pick of the horses, and I bet all the big boys would like to get their hands on him!, and also to Roger.
I stood up to a three yr old filly yesterday, I think it was one of Ideals progeny,(my French isnt great)n she looked a proper jumper in the making.Keep up the good work with the reports, sorry, I wasnt looking out for you, were you the lady with the huge brown sunglasses?

Please pass my comments regarding Zoer (but not the "incompetent fool" part as I think that was too harsh a criticism) on to Mr. Vaughan. Also (if possible) tell Eurosport they really should get rid of that dreadful voice-over who does the likes of Rider's Club. He struggles to pronounce a lot of horse and rider names properly, pauses for an incredibly long time between words and often runs into whoever is talking in the programme. Thanks. However I do enjoy Sara Rust and Amanda Ratcliffe.

I have never watched the live stream as my internet connection is far too slow. Could you please also tell me what happened to Peter Churchill. He was one of Eurosport's best commentators and I really miss him. Thank you again.

Quadro, i stood by the main gate into the arena and I was definately on there though no pink cowboy hat but i did do lots of waving and squealing when Ben was clear!
 
Ben's a great rider and talking of commentary ( and I know its long way off ) but I hope they get a better team together for Olympia this year. Very dull last year.

Re the commentators, yes please can we have a change, I like Amanda Radcliffe's views, and maybe someone like Steven Wilde, that other chap is getting on my threepenny bits!!!

Leave Richard Vaughan alone, he is a welcome energetic voice to an otherwise getting boring sport.
It's Sara Rust that should be got rid off, a miss "know it all" about riding. What did she win at International level? a World Championship like Dermott Lennon 2002 or 1986 Gail Greenough !!
Amanda Ratcliffe's voice is a nice n' easy on the ear.
Peter Churchill: In the 2000 Hickstead Nations Cup that Ireland won, Peter commented that Cian O'Connor's German bred Waterford Crystal, was an Irish bred!! If only.
Although Richard Vaughan gives some breeding details e.g. the breed and sire of "some" of the horses. All the jumping horses at top level (CSI4* & CSI5*) should have their breed, sire and Dam's sire read out (they have the info in front of them).
