Up until now my horses have been relatively easy to transition to barefoot.....however having completed 3 months of great barefoot progress gingie has had a sore week. I'm hoping that it is several factors that are just adding together (less roadwork, soggy field, wormer....). So I have gone back to basics and leading out in hand and have dug our the cavellos. He is actually very comfy in the boots, looks normal. Is there any benefit to putting therapeutic pads into hoof boots when horse is walking painfree and confidently without? My 5 year old I in a similar place although only 6 weeks barefoot.
I was just wondering whether the pads would be used to support foot until walking pain free without is possible, or of they are useful at all stages of rehab?
