Benefits of a drop noseband and a flash noseband

Can someone tell me the benefits each type has and what differences there are between the two?

Flashes were developed so a standing martingale could be used without having to caverson and drop noseband. Drop tend to fit better IMO, and are more effective (without having to be done up tightly).

As far as I can tell, the drop prevents the opening of the mouth. i used this for my pony and it worked ok.

But my instructor said put him in a flash and we haven't looked back. The flash prevents the crossing of the jaw and opening of the mouth.

I think it is a bit of trial and error really.

i aksed the same question in this forum yesterday and someone provided a link to a good explaination of the differences - will only be a few posts down.

I think i would like to try a drop on twig - i just need to find someone to borrow one off now
