Bent leg stirrup irons

Hi there! i recently bought a new horse whose tack included bent leg irons. I've been riding for over 20 years but have never used these, and although I sound really thick asking this, could someone please let me know which way around these go? Obviously the bent bit goes on the outside but I just can't work out which way it should be bending! I don't want to make these 'safety' stirrups unsafe by using them in the wrong way!! The bend should face towards the horses head

Thanks Boogles! I thought as much but they had been put on the wrong way around, I tried to use them that way to begin with but they felt totally wrong and not at all safe! I've been using my old stirrups since then, but will try again with these now that I know!!

I hate riding in traditional irons, I feel much safer in the bent irons

They're good - stopped me getting dragged when my boy slipped over on a wet hunt field!
