I had my baby girl put down at home this morning after she ruptured her spleen . She was put to sleep at home as car and vet stressed her out, I'm trying to cope with the beravement myself I had Malta 9 years but I never considered my other dog and feel selfish now, scoobie is in morning quite bad, she was allowed to see Malta after she was laid to rest but has taken her self off to bed since, she has eaten but u can see in her posture and eyes she's feeling as bad as me. Is there anything I can do to help scoobie ? She's a 11month old collie I've had since she was 10 weeks

Thank you

Sorry to hear about Malta, there is a tribute sticky at the top of the room if you want to post pics, memories of her x

I would just give it a while and see how your pup goes, hard as it may be, try to act as if nothing has happened, be normal, not overfuss her as that will mirror any anxiety or depression she is already feeling x

Act normal and keep her in her routine. But I wouldn't be against a little extra comfort and letting her know you care, collies are very sensitive souls, she is probably reacting to your sadness as much as her own. Let her know you are OK and she will be too.
