Hiya,

I keep my horses in Osterley in West London and me and some other owners have decided to take our ponies on more regular away days. We kicked it off at Great Westwood XC near King's Langley which was great, but one of my horses doesn't jump and I'm after some ideas for somewhere we can box to for some nice hacking.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Oh Wow Osterley, I used to wish I kept my horse there!
Epsom Downs, Black Heath, the area around Frensham, Oxshott/Esher, Wisley, Ranmore Common, Polesden Lacey.
If you get a map out we are so spoilt!

Lots of the sponsored rides are great fun and you absolutely dont have to jump. The longest one near me is at Waddesdon and is beautiful about 13 miles and about April/May. Theres also RAF Halton or Hatfield House both on 16 March, they are shorter, halton is a bit of a cavalry charge, Hatfield quite short 8 miles ish and tame

look at ridingdiary website has all the info!

You also have access to Epping forest too, but you will need to visit the visitors center to get a "day ticket" to ride

Richmond park is one of our favourite's but it's in the low emission zone so go sooner rather than later

I would highly recommend Windsor Great Park, one of mine is out on loan that way and the hacking is as you can imagine, amazing!

You need a permit for Windsor my friend until very recently kept her horse just a stones throw away and she was fined for riding in there without one!!!

I keep my horse near Farnham Surrey and we have got amazing hacking all along the surrey hills, north downs and frensham area. There are quite a few places with nice big car parks so you can box over there no worries x.
