You know how we all have two names (mine is Bertie but when we go out they call me One Way) well, my best friend is called Mum but when we go out everyone calls her Rosie. Anyway, almost before it was light Mum came down to the yard and after the usual preliminaries, me and Oda - she only seems to have one name, probably because she just does SJ - were put on the lorry along with this other one called Felix (think his name is Kingfisher Blue when he goes out) and we all went to Towerlands to do SJ.

First of all you need to know it was very very cold but we had loads of rugs on so we were OK while we waited on the lorry. Felix went off somewhere but I dozed a bit and ate some hay. Then he came back and said he'd won his BN class and Mum was very pleased with him because he'd been quite naughty at home and she had feared the worst (whatever that means). I wasn't impressed because I could win BN I expect. Then off he goes again for the Disco but pride comes before a fall and he had one down - haha.

Then Oda and me had to go and do the Newcomers. I went first and I was brilliant except I had to stop at the first jump because there was a shark just over to the left and I needed to save Mum's life (and mine). She smacked my bottom though so I jumped it after all and then I jumped clear and do you know what - it wasn't a shark after all - it was just an oxer painted grey. Whatever next. Anyway Oda had one down too so no sweat.

Then me and Oda did the Foxhunters and there were lots of proper SJ horses and people including Tim Gredley and Daniel Nielson and that Lovegrove man (whoever they are). I went first and I went clear. Oda had quite a few down but she hasn't been jumping for very long so Mum wasn't too cross. Then we had to go back on the lorry while Mum and the rest of my entourage went in the caff. Mum bought some polos but had eaten most of them before she came back to see me.

Then I did the jump off (number 7 of 8) and I was really unlucky to have one down I thought so I think I came last but never mind - Mum was happy and so was I (apart from that Felix creature who seems to think he's coming eventing with me next season - I'm working on scuppering that plan I can tell you).

PS Nancy said to tell you she will put some vid up as soon as she's sorted it out. Oh, you might know her as Rosiefan which is her name when she goes out I think.

Well done you had better ask your mum about getting your eyes tested though! Mind you watch out when you start eventing again as there are some sharks in the water jumps!

What an exciting day Bertie. I hope you are tucked up with a big haynet and some carrots now.

Looking forward to seeing you handsome boys on video ASAP.

Wow Bertie what a grown up boy you are. If only i'd bought you then you could behave that well for me.

Your mummy is very lucky and I can't wait to see the video of you.

Well done Bertie!!!!!!

Don’t worry, there are no sharks in those water jumps when eventing; ...just Alligators!!

Looking forward to seeing the vid.

Very well done Bertie. You are obviously the star of the team. Keep showing the sharks you are not scared of them.
Well done to Rosie too.

Very good boy, Bertie. Now if you just stop looking for sharks, and tipping the odd pole in the jump off... I'm sure Rosie will make sure you get a whole packet of polos!!
