So turns out all the roads out of our village flood. We moved in at the beginning of spring 2013, so just discovering these things now. No way my little sports car was getting through! I am figuring it's going to be fun in the snow too.

so I am looking for a 4x4. I have around 4k to spend. I want something relatively cheap to run (for a 4x4 that is), reliable and not too expensive to fix if things do go wrong.

i currently don't have a trailer I need to tow. But it may be on the cards next year instead of lorry, which doesn't get used enough. It'd either be a single horse ifor (so something small enough for b licence towing please) OR a bigger trailer like a fautras provan which I've been lusting after, but I'd need to do my trailer test.

Kia Sorento - old style has the better towing capacity.

Economical for a 4 x 4 and comfy too drive. Have had mine 8 yrs and still going strong!

Search on here and you will see a lot of people will also recommend.

Nissan Terrano - there are small and large engines depending on whether you need to tow, and short and long wheel base (not much boot room in the short but then if you have had a sports car..............). Mine performs like a Land Rover but drives like a car - they don't make them any more but you should pick one up without too many miles on the clock for your budget.
