My mare is starting to grow her winter woolies very quickly (after heavily shedding her summer coat in mid august which was unusual...) :p Going to be clipping out soon depending on how fast her winter coat comes through - as planning on doing quite a bit of work this winter.

She is a cob x with a wide build, very sloping shoulders and high withers, and because of her shape I am positive she'll struggle with rubs after having her shoulders clipped out. I really don't want her rubbed raw and am looking for an anti-rub vest for her. I tried silk lining her fly rug this year but she still managed to rub out her withers in a few days... Not really looked into vests and bibs before - anyone have any preferences? I've seen a few cheap lycra ones around although they don't seem to have good reviews. I like the look of the polypad version but it's extortionate and don't want to fork out £33 to have it not work... I really don't have any idea which would be best - never had one before so would be fab to hear which ones people rate :)

My horse rubbed the hair off his withers coming out of the winter so I got a lycra from local robinsons store no neck, it was brilliant, hair grew back in no time, so am going to get the same one with a neck as I have trouble with his mane rubbing off when he wears his winter combo's, think it was a roma lycra one £18 so am going to look for the same one with a neck if they do them

We have tried both the stretchy lycra types and Bossy Bibs - and Bossy Bibs are the only things that work with the GreyDonkey.
