What balancers do you all feed? My horse can be anxious/sensitive and puts on weight by staring at grass so just wondering what you all feed for a general balancer for the ones that don't need extra condition?! He's currently in light work.

I definitely don't need anything that has anything in to hot him up or give him more energy as he currently has plenty! He's currently on Spillers Lite and Lean which I'm happy with but just wondering out of interest about others.

Ive tried a few including powdered ones. He got on best with Suregrow when he was a youngster and as an adult Bailey lo cal has served him well even through his lami episode.

If his prone to weight gain you could switch to a powdered one less calories then but I struggled to get my 2 to eat alot of them,

So I feed spillers daily balancer or the light and lean now, mine don't get a huge amount of other feed and only get 1 bucket feed a day so I'm not to worried.

I feed equine answers 365 complete - a powder - mixed in with a good handful of fast fibre & soaked with enough water to make a sloppy soup.
I’m a bit doubtful about the benefits of vitamins & supplements, but he’s older, on a restricted diet (also a very good doer) and the 365 is reasonably priced.

Old Horse is on TopSpec Anti-Lam and has been for the last four years. He had a brush with laminitis and YO suggested it. It seems to suit him and, so far, has done the job as advertised on the bag.

Currently using Equimins Tip Top supplement and pleased with it. It’s much more affordable than the pelleted balancers as it comes as a two
month supply, and also isn’t full of all the fillers like a lot of the pelleted balancers are.
