Best bargain you ever brought?

Knobberpony, she cost me £950 2.5 years ago and has taught my girls everything she knows [including how to deal with stubborn, bad tempered ponies],and does everything, hunts safely, jumps,is like a rocket at games, bombproof, you can herd sheep on her, does a dressage test and is amazing at x country.
My Ifor trailer £840 from Melton horse sales, dad went halves so only cost me £420.
A pair of Peacock stirrup irons £1 fro a car boot sale, the seller didn't know what they were.
I love a bargain.

£1000 on ebony, in my second uni year I had to move from Plymouth to Cornwall, my grandmother was ill and I took a year out, so when I returned to uni I was commuting from Redruth to Plymouth (loooong journey). I was holding down a full time managerial job and had a horse!!!

Throughout the loss of my grandmother, the stress of commuting so far and working full time in my final year, five years of hell (cheating, violence and lies) in a six year relationship, <depression because of this. Working for the NHS and going through serious inquiry because my bosses tried to scapegoat me and fighting to clear my name, my little mare was my sanity, my respite, my reason for getting up some days and facing the world, my reason for fighting back. Not to mention she was the most challenging horse I've ever known to begin with and with her, I learnt so much and became the rider and owner that I am today.

She is gone now, but the best bargain I ever bought was her. However, I do like my aldi saddlecloths too :)

That's lovely -and love the Aldi saddlecloths bit too :)

My daughter's new mare.
We bought her (a bitsa - Welsh X Arab X Stockhorse supposedly but in reality who knows) for 400 dollars (that's about 250 quid) 2 years ago as a bit of future planning. She was so cheap I couldn't say no! She's JUST 15hh so that nice expensive Galloway size: I restarted her under saddle after 2 years off and then wasn't quite sure what to do with her next as I already have a horse in work and I work full time...
Due to the unexpected death of my daughter's 12.2 Welsh pony 2 weeks ago, the "future" has come a bit sooner than we expected. So with a deep breath and several crossed digits we tried the new combination on the weekend. Daughter looks like a pea on a drum and weighs about 20 kilos wringing wet... On Sunday they recorded 9 miles of trail riding including some cantering and mare did not put a foot wrong! Pony Club next weekend. Mare is now officially worth her weight in gold...

My horse. £100 13 years ago. He is the sweetest, kindest, naughtiest horse ever! We have had so much fun together and I love him so much I could burst!
He is 23 now and I retired him as I am pregnant, he will want for nothing and can just be a horse for as long as he is comfortable!

I just got three joules t shirts for £5 each at charity shop last week.

Sambas equinox stable rug was £6 bought on eBay, mum was on holiday where it was so picked it up for me.

My TB has a lovely real Whitney Rug I bought for £10 at auction, finally parted with it last year for £30
