What do people think is the best British eventing venue? I've been looking for some events for the season, and I was wondering what other people thought. thanks x :D

Any that isn't knee deep in mud! Belton is nice if you are at the high level. If not them the dressage areans for the lower classes aren't the best by any manor of means and not the friendliest for lesser bods, prefer Osberton.

I like MKEC mainly because it's close to me but also the going is always the best it can be. I like the up hill/down hill run. However, the jumps are for the lower levels (novice and under) Aston le walls is always a good run for all levels. But again I'm bias as both are close and I'm lazy :D

I would rather be happy to have BE tracks that were less than two hours travelling time. It would be fabby if they also had good ground for all three phases with their warm-ups with good parking. The icing on the cake would be if they didn't have to cancel for weather! Unless you are in the south, where you can pick and choose your events, up here the one that is going ahead is the favourite! We can't afford to be picky. (sorry for my grumbles - fed up with more blizzarding snow again)

I think to actual answer your question properly, we need your perspective for asking the Q - re you asking as a spectator or rider? If a rider - what level and what area? Are meaning best XC course, best ground for dressage/SJ, warmups, hard parking etc.....

same boat!

I am South East based and my favourite local venue is Hambleden. The bluebell woods are so pretty :D

As a spectator Barbury is fantastic - I would love my horse to compete there but as she is only just moving up to Novice it won't be this year. Fingers crossed for next year though :)

Chatsworth is my favourite. Unfortunately this year I am having to go for the first time as a spectator and not riding as I don't have a horse capable of the novice track there this season!

As a spectator/groom, its Moreton, Pontispool, Homme House and Mommouth - always love going there for some reason. For atmosphere its Aldon.
