Best bedding for dirty mare?

As title really

My three year old is very dirty in stable, got her on rubber mats and straw but have to clear out whole stable after she has been in for the night.

Anyone got any ideas what bedding might help stay a bit cleaner as she ends up with disgusting rugs too

Tried shavings but just got expensive.

What about Shredded Paper? My sister swore by it for her dirty Harvey and, it worked for her

I switched from shavings to straw to Aubiose for my horrid little squitter girl. I love her really! Even tho the straw was free and the Aubiose £10 a bag and shavings £7 the Aubiose means miles less time mucking out, much more comfy for her.

I add 1 bag a week, and she has a lovely bed

flax - amazing! with mats a bag a week compared to 100 quid a month on shavings. pick out worst daily then opne wheelbarrow to lift the lost at the w/e,

i used aubiose found it quite good
too expesnive though as got 3 neds-two dirty and one clean filly!
am paranoid about dust so will prob swap from straw for the dirties onto either shavings or megasorb.
ive got mats too but like a full bed as they all lie down alot.

Yes, she lays down a lot so like to give her a decent bed.

Have just downsized from 3 to 2

so one who is very clean can stay on straw and try something diff for little miss filthy

I used Sundown Yellow for my dirty filly last year with rubber mats. She used to leave the centre of the box clean but the outside was completely mashed up so I dumped a bale in the middle for her to lay on and left the sides down to the rubber; worked a treat and I used one every 5/6 days, took all muck out daily then emptied out completely to start again. It's cheaper than shavings which didn't last half as long and straw went everywhere.

Good plan MFH09. My mare is a messy, wet little tart who crosses her legs in the field to save a bathful of pee for her stable. She's on a deep litter bed and I've found that by leaving the bed part of it at the back half of the stable and leaving the mats at the front bare, I can manage it better. She still has a nice soft bed at the back if she wants a lie down but the front stays cleaner. I've tried every super-absorbent bedding going and nothing works except this!
