I've never bothered with boots in the past on my cob (other than overreach) as he doesn't really need them - however this year as he has just turned 21 I wanted a little extra protection whilst jumping & hunting, plus the last time we went out he got kicked so I'm considering them a must in future. I didn't want anything too invasive so I bought a set of Horseware easi boots - as his legs are clipped they would not stay in place & ended up in a heap around his fetlocks. Next I tried good old faithful woof brushing boots - although these are better, I'm having the same problem, they slip down the leg & end up extremely tight around the fetlock if you do much more than walk. Can anyone recommend a good all round boot for hacking & jumping that offer a good level of protection & will stay put?

I use Eskadron boots on my cob when his legs are not clipped out and they don't slip. In winter when his legs are fully clipped out I use NEW brushing boots on front and JW fetlock boots behind and find they don't slip. They are only ones I've found to stay in place on his clipped legs. Or you could bandage?

I'm quite a fan of the Veredus boots, I have their tendon and fetlock boots and considering getting their xc versions for this coming season. The good thing is they protect the leg fully and they are breathable, so a long days hunting could mean your cobs legs will keep cool, but nowadays most modern boots have breathable qualities about them.
