Best boredom breaker ever!

Helium balloons!
It was my birthday yesterday and the girls at the yard decorated my stables etc and bought me a balloon which they put in the aisle just out of Hovis and Omars reach.
As the snow was bad yesterday all the horses stayed in and Hovis and Omar were seen trying to get hold of the balloon for hours! Everytime they got close their breath made it move so they were gently blowing on it for ages. Hardly any mess last night and not a peep out of them all day.
They haven't been able to go out again today and have been playing up. I'm just about to take the balloon back down!!

Bless! Most of the horses I know would have a fit if you took a balloon within 20ft of them!

Other than daffodils (well known for their horse killing properties) I've not found anything that scares hovis. Omar is a poof about everything when he's alone but very brave if hovis is with him.

Might try a balloon though as my boy is getting a bit fractious
