Best bridle for sensitive ears?

What have people used for horses that have sensitive ears? my horse doesn't like you touching his ears very much, so if the headpiece is pressing on the back of them, he is uncomfortable. It is nothing major, he doesn't act up, but if I can make him happier then I will !
 
Oh good idea, that is worth a try ! I have a few around, Hate to see them digging in anyway, all of mine are the awkward size between cob and full, so they tend to be a little tight
 
Anything with a cut back head piece really. More expensive ones are the likes of the Fairfax, but the Dyon range are quite nice and very good quality!
 
Mine is sensitive about everything
I have a pro lite headpiece cushion on her xc bridle and a Micklem for the rest which seems well shaped and doesn't annoy her
 
We got our saddler to make a bridle with a browband which attached with poppers, like an endurance bridle, for our 18.1hh who was head shy and didn't want his ears touched.

Would you mind passing me your saddlers details? I have a mare who is so phobic of her right ear being touched, I have searched high and low for exactly what you are describing.
 
Hi fairyclaire, if you search pioneer endurance, or pioneer endurance head shy bridle the contact details will come up. She has a Facebook page too. Our lad hated getting his ears touched after getting Liverpool cream treatment at the base of one :( poor lad! But I can't recommend these guys enough, they will make tack to your horses own measurement if you ask. Xx

I am awaiting a session with Richard Maxwell to try and help her with it. At the moment I am taking the micelle bridle apart to get it on her but she isn't that keen on the bridle itself and prefers a simple cavesson.
I will get on Facebook and have a look now.
