I will be moving my new boy to a different yard at the end of the month and want to make the journey as stress free as possible! He is a Tb and I am told he travels well although he was rather hot and stressy when he arrived...
I would therefore like to give him something to take the edge off as the journey will be one and a half to two hours on motorways, so no stopping or turning back!

Anyone have any experience good or bad with instant calmers or one I could use leading up to it?

I've had excellent results with Naf Tempralax. It's a liquid that you can give him a small amount of the day before you move, and again in some breakfast the day of the move.

Bear in mind that it is illegal to sedate a horse when transporting - not that sedation is what you are asking about but worth reminding everyone
