For a horse that seems to have a lot of nervous energy but manifests it in very sharp behaviour?

Good as gold to handle but stress head with tack on be it ridden or lunging.
He seems to have the attention span of a goldfish and when you knuckle down on him to concentrate he throws a wobbler!

Saddle, back, teeth all done - he has always been sharp tbh and whilst i dont believe in calmers im willing to try anything now before i kill him!

Ive been told to try Magnitude - just wondered what else was out there?

Thanks

We used this on 2 of ours within the last month, didnt touch either of them. One is a race horse who has been turned away since april, he's still quite fit and the other is a reitred race horse who is extremley(sp) fit. It didnt seem to make a bit of difference to either. We used the tube you put in their mouth, it also comes as a powder to go in feed but we havent tried that.

We have some of the Carl Hester stuff to try next time we go out.

i tried them all - american equine most def the strongest! doesnt do HUGE amounts but does take the edge off.

wait - i have global herbs magnesium calmer of that helps

its oldbut you can have it

may even have some nupafeed as was recommeneded it by the cornishes.

the so kalm syringe is hardcore!

whenever! at home now - sent OH off to mother in law whilst i recover from a hell of a week and get ready for horsey tomorro - will go out to garage and see what i have. or at yard in a bit/tomorrow if easier

Magic has worked wonders on a horse at my yard, it used to be really tense and worried about everything, not naughty though. Within days it really chilled him out and i noticed a massive difference in his ridden work and he was far less jumpy on the ground too.

Sorry should have said the powder stuff that goes in their feed, you need to feed it every day and it takes a week or so before you notice any difference. I have a warmblood who sounds similar to yours, she can be very sharp and also has very short attention span and magic has made difference to her. I have also used the syringes but they had no affect at all!!! My friend has a TB and he also responds to the magic powder, while magnitude has made a huge diff to my pony but didnt touch my warmblood. Im afraid it can take trial and error to find one that works for you. Friend has her conn on magic which helps him but tried a few calmers from global herbs and they made him mental!!! Have also heard that the bluechip stuff is good. Good luck.

I have had my nervous project pony on Magnitude now for weeks and I'm really pleased with it, I saw a difference after about 4 days. He is very nervous and jumpy at the slightest things even stroking, he would never let you stroke his head over the stable door, but now he is alot more chilled, happily lets you stroke him wherever without jumping every second, it has definately taken the edge off him, he's like a different pony, plus it's good value for money.
