Hi all,

My YO clipped my horse for me last year as i had not long bought him and wasnt sure how he would be (he was fine!!) but this year i have decided to buy my own clippers and do it myself!!

I am a bit fussy and would like them to be lightweight and quiet but i need them to be powerful as my ID gets really hairy. Have to be cordless as there is no power at my yard.

Open to suggestions as there as sooo many out there!!!

I've recently bought some Lister Stars after recommendations on here and like them so far :D They are fairly quiet and lightweight/ easy to hold. Don't seem to get too hot (though I did give them a short rest to cool down every 15mins which you're meant to). Have blanket clipped my two who are both very easy and have thin coats so couldn't say how they'd do with thicker coated horses.

Lister Liberty all the way. Only got them last week but clipped out 1 cob fully & hairy irish chap fully as well. Absolutely no problems going through thick coats. They are battery (comes with a belt but we put battery in our pocket) Half the length than my hauptner clippers so much easier to handle.

Cheapest place we found was farmcare uk. They came in a twin pack with Libretto trimmers for £298. Local tack shop wanted £339 for the liberty alone & another £120 for the libretto's!!

I have the Moser Avalon, they're on their 4th winter now, I clip a yard of 4-6 horses, all full or hunter clips.
They're cordless, quiet, lightweight and powerful enough for a full clip.
