Hi - I need to get some sound feed advice for my older cob, who has had some illness issues. I know that the FC has a list on here, but can anyone tell me which are the best amongst the feed companies? Thanks.

There's a sticky at the top of the page where the nutritionist who helped develop Keyflow feeds is giving advice. I would certainly post there and see what is suggested.

Allen & Page are very helpful.....we had one of their nutritionists out 3 times (with a weigh bridge) to monitor ours, and they have said if we want them to come back again, they will....she was very helpful, and all 4 of our horses look very good on what they suggested. She didn't only push A&P feeds either....

Debbie from Thunderbrook. Her knowleddge of feed blows my mind and Im sure you will be as shocked as I was at some of what she has to say about the general stuff in a lot of horse feeds:) Please don't be put off by the price like I was for a long time, it actually works out dead cheap as you feed so little. My horse has never felt or looked better. Goodd luck:)

It depends what you want to feed. If you want a natural feed like grass nuts, SB, alfalfa, lurcene then call Simple Systems they are very helpful and help specialise a diet for your horse. If you want a mix, straights etc. then you best calling the feed companies like Allen and Page, Baileys and Dodson and Horrell

thats odd about baileys not replying. I emailed them with tons of questions about two horses and got a brilliant detailed reply back. it did take a week or so, but it was very helpful

Baileys are always mega slow with their replies, and good luck trying to get them on the phone!

Allen & Page and Saracens ive always been impressed with.

Hi all, thanks so much for all your suggestions - they are all duly noted and I will compose one email and fire it off at all of them!

Baileys have been fab for me. Get regular phone calls and emails for check ups to see how my horse is doing.

Allen & Page were extremely unhelpful. Basically turned round and said "he can eat this and nothing else", to which my reply was "I know point blank that he won't eat a bowl full of slop" to which their reply was "well I don't know what to suggest".

I did feed Pure Feed for a short time, and they were very helpful too. But customer service and support - Baileys all the way!
