I have a four year old who is looking a bit poor, now most of this is due to lack of muscle as he is young but he could still do with being a little rounder in general. I have had him on Calm and Condition for about a month and not really seen much improvement.

Are there any non -heating conditioning feeds that you would recommend?

Thanks

Topline condtioning cubes ..... I swear by them , I have foalie on them at the minute and she is in great shape and shining like an otter ... baileys do topline conditioning cubes ...

I also said to another livery on our yard to use them for her skinny little pony, and hes looking 10 times better .

worth a shot

Baileys. They also do a crumb think its baileys no 1, works well for weight gain. Sharps is good too and cheaper. Jock lost a bit of weight when he had a bad cut on his leg, and put him on baileys topline conditioning mix and calm and condition, back to how he was and a bit more!

My horse looked ok when I bought him but then we started working him and the little bit of weight he had fell off...and underneath no muscle ... he looked bad for ages.... use to keep his rugs on till the last possible moment!

Had his teeth done and wormed him really well that seemed to make a difference... tbh I tried Blue chip/ top spec/ pink powders etc (all really expensive) had him blood tested nothing worked, just had to wait until he put some muscle on and went out on the summer grass. He looks ok now but I still feed him tons of hard food to keep his condition on... some horses are just thin (unlike me).

supplement called equine complete, cannot recommend it enough! Really put the weight and condition on my boy without him heating up and believe me that sa task and a half!

i feed topspec to mine and they are all in good shape. i feed reccomended amount on bag for my big boy but less for my tbx 4 year old, he gets half a cup a day.

Allen & Page - calm and condition, dosent make them at all fizzy and works really well. Im seeing great improvements in my horse after using it for a couple of months now. Obviuosly you need to put in the correct work to build the muscle too.

Spring Grass - very cheap and simple and I have never seen it fail. I had problems last year with weight on mine and hung on till it came through. Have not had same problems this year at all.

Top Spec Cool and Condition Cubes - no fizz and sensible condition/top line gain. Would highly recommend

Alternatively Linseed oil or ground is excellent for putting condition on.
